Captains. A. In accordance with federal and state law, the Employer has determined that captain positions are overtime exempt and as such are not covered by federal or state overtime laws. Compensation is based on the premise that captains are expected to work as many hours as necessary to provide the public services for which they were hired. The salary paid to captains (including any supplemental compensation in accordance with Article 25.12) is full compensation for all hours worked. Normally captains will be expected to work a minimum of forty (40) hours in a workweek.
