Casual Employee Probationary Period. (a) For the first 455 hours of service with the Employer, a casual employee shall be a probationary employee. The Employer, with the agreement of the Union, may extend the probationary period for an additional 455 hours for just cause. (b) The test for just cause for rejection during probation shall include a test of suitability (which includes, but is not limited to, proven ability to handle the duties and responsibilities of the position, as well as consistent availability for shifts) of the probationary employee for continued employment in the position to which they have been appointed.
