Ceramic Tiles. Ceramic tiles shall be of 1st quality as approved by the Consultants/ Vandavasi Municipality or its authorised representatives. They shall adequately meet the relevant I.S. They shall be light weight, with thickness varying between 6 to 8 mm, depending on the manufacturer. Therefore they require thinner floor bedding compared to mosaic/stone flooring. On laying, they require no further polishing making the floor ready to live in and use. They shall be suitably used for residences, offices, hotels, hospitals, auditoriums, restaurants, canteens, commercial complex and such other public places. They shall be extremely strong, breaking strength of the tile being 350 Kg/cm2 and flexural strength of 350 Kg/cm2. They shall offer good resistance to abrasion, i.e. can withstand up to 5000 grindings, they shall be scratch resistance, their hardness on the Mho’s scale shall be 6.8 to 7. They shall be resistant to all acids and alkalize except hydrofluoric acid. In addition, they shall be bacteria free and fire proof as they are tired at @ 11600C. They shall have very high acoustic damping factor and their specific gravity shall be 0.12, making them good insulators. Their resistance to thermal shocks shall be up to 10 cycles and their coefficient of linear thermal expansion shall be 9 from ambient temperature to 1000C. They shall be available in various sizes. 200mm x 100mm, 200mm x 200mm. 200rnm x 300nun, 300rnm x 300mm, 300mm x 400 mm. They shall have a size tolerance of ± 0.4% to 0.75% in length and width and ± 5% in thickness. Allowable warp age shall be ± 0.5% allowable square ness. Wedging shall be ±0.4 to 0.5% the allowable straightness of edges shall be ±0.5% and allowable flatness shall be ±0.4 to 0.5% their water absorption rate shall be less than 5%. Ceramic tile for Industrial purposes shall have a hardness of 8.6 on the Mho’s scale and shall be non-skid, hard wearing long lasting and acid and alkali resistant. They shall adequately meet the IS: 4457.

Ceramic Tiles. Loose grouting or cracks are common due to normal shrinking and drying processes. SELLER will repair areas with missing or cracked grout one time only during the first one (1) year from the date of possession. SELLER will not be responsible for grout color mismatch, tile mismatch, or discontinuation of tile grout. Re-grouting is the Buyer’s responsibility after one (1) year from the date of possession. Occasionally tiles contain imperfections, which do not require service. The occurrences of scratches or cracked tile are not covered by this Warranty unless brought to the attention of the SELLER prior to the date of possession. It is the BUYER’S responsibility to replace loose tile, and grout to prevent penetration of moisture into floors and walls after the one (1) year period.
