Common use of Charge of Personal Leave Clause in Contracts

Charge of Personal Leave. Personal leave which is used by an employee shall be charged in minimum units of two (2) hours (e.g. 2, 4, 6, 8) or the entire duration of the employee’s scheduled shift if the employee is requesting to use personal leave for the entire shift (e.g. nine (9) hours for an entire nine (9) hour shift). Personal leave may be used in increments other than two hours if the employee is using personal leave to supplement pay during disability leave, workers’ compensation or childbirth/adoption leave. Employees shall be charged personal leave only for the days and hours for which they would have otherwise been scheduled to work, but shall not include scheduled overtime.
