Personal Leave Days. Section 1. All employees after completion of six (6) months of service shall be entitled to receive personal leave days in the following manner: (A) All full time employees shall be entitled to twenty-four (24) hours of personal leave with pay each fiscal year; (B) Part-time, seasonal, and job share employees shall be granted such leave in a prorated amount of twenty-four (24) hours based on the same percentage or fraction of month they are hired to work, or as subsequently formally modified, provided it is anticipated that they will work 1,040 hours during the fiscal year; Section 2. Should any employee fail to work 1,040 hours for the fiscal year, the value of personal leave time used may be recovered from the employee. Section 3. Personal leave shall not be cumulative from year to year nor is any unused leave compensable in any other manner. Section 4. Such leave may be used by an employee for any purpose he/she desires and may be taken at times mutually agreeable to the university and the employee.

One paid personal leave day will be earned in the employee's first calendar year of employment provided the employee has 160 hours in an active pay status in the calendar year. b. Employees in their second calendar year of employment will earn one personal leave day during the first, second and third calendar quarters provided the employee has 160 hours in an active pay status in each one-quarter calendar year. c. Employees in their third and subsequent years of employment will earn one paid personal leave day in the first, second and fourth calendar quarters and two personal leave days in the third calendar quarter, provided the employee has 160 hours in an active pay status in each one-quarter calendar year. d. Leave service credit earned during all periods of Commonwealth employment will be used to determine whether, for purposes of this Section, an employee is in the first calendar year of employment, the second calendar year of employment, or the third and subsequent years of employment. Section 2. Personal leave shall be scheduled and granted for periods of time requested by an employee subject to management's responsibility to maintain efficient operations. If the nature of the work makes it necessary to limit the number of employees on personal leave at the same time, the employee with the greatest bargaining unit seniority at the work site shall be given a choice of personal leave in the event of any conflict in selection. Section 3. Personal leave to which an employee may become entitled during the calendar year may be granted at the Employer's discretion before it is earned. An employee who is permitted to anticipate such leave and who subsequently terminates employment shall reimburse the Employer for those days of personal leave used but not earned. Section 4. Personal leave days shall be noncumulative from calendar year to calendar year. However, employees will be permitted to carry over personal leave days into the first seven (7) pay periods of the next calendar year. Any days carried over in accordance with this Section which are not scheduled and used during the first seven (7) pay periods of the next calendar year will be lost. Section 5. An employee who becomes ill while on personal leave will not be charged personal leave for the period of illness provided the employee furnishes satisfactory proof of such illness to the Employer up...
Personal Leave Days. The University shall grant each member of the bargaining unit three (3) personal leave days in each calendar year. These days cannot be saved or banked. They will be taken at a time mutually agreeable between the Employee and the University. In approving such leave departmental operating requirements shall be the major consideration. Permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. These days do not affect the vacation or sick leave credits.

Twelve- (12) month faculty members hired between January 1 and April 30 will be granted twelve (12) personal leave hours on the faculty members’ date of hire, and faculty assigned to work forty (40) hour work weeks totaling fifteen-hundred sixty (1,560) hours per year (three-quarter [3/4] time) will be granted nine (9) personal leave hours on the faculty members’ date of hire.

Personal Leave Days. At the beginning of each leave year, each bargaining unit member assigned to a 2,496-hour work year shall be credited with 48 hours of personal leave to be used for any purpose. Each bargaining unit member assigned to a 40- or 42-hour work week shall be credited with a prorated number of hours of personal leave. The days must be used in full shifts (no partial shifts) and must be used during the leave year. All unused days are forfeited at the end of the leave year. Personal leave benefit will be pro-rated for part-time employees. This additional personal leave will be taken and used without additional personnel costs or use of overtime to backfill for unit members on personal leave.

Personal Leave Days. All employees shall be granted three (3) personal leave days. Employees shall notify their Supervisor at least 24 hours in advance. All persons will be allowed to carry over one Personal Business day into the next year for a total of four (4). No more than three (3) consecutive days shall be allowed to be taken off at one time.
Personal Leave Days a. Three (3) personal days shall be granted during the contractual year upon request to the building principal without loss of compensation for such absence. A reason must be given unless the employee considers it extremely personal to indicate otherwise. This request shall be made to the building principal and should be requested at least twenty-four (24) hours before the affected date except in an emergency (an event occurring within 24 hours of the start of the requested leave). Such personal leave days shall be allowed to accumulate to four (4) days. No more than three (3) such days can be used consecutively. Such unused leave shall be added to the accumulated sick leave days prior to the beginning of the next school year. The School Board and the Association mutually agree that personal leave days should not be used for the purpose of extending the length of scheduled vacations. b. A teacher who teaches less than a full day shall be granted three (3) personal leave days equivalent in length to his teaching day. A teacher who teaches less than a full school year will be granted personal leave days on a prorated basis rounded to the nearest half day (See Section 6.1). c. Teachers who require additional days of personal leave for reasons not included in this contract shall, upon written notification to the superintendent, be granted two (2) days for which they will sacrifice their daily salary for that period of time at the rate at which they have been contracted. Additional days without pay may be granted by the Board.
