Common use of Charge Premium Clause in Contracts

Charge Premium. The charge premium of $2.00 per hour will be paid to a 27 nurse who is designated in writing by the unit manager to have 28 responsibilities for coordinating unit staff and activities related to patient 29 care and patient care assignments. The selection and the assignment of 30 the charge nurse differential shall be at the sole discretion of the unit 31 nursing manager. It is understood that any relief charge nurse identified in 32 writing by the unit manager shall be entitled to the charge differential when 33 carrying out such assignments in the absence of the charge nurse.

The selection and the assignment of 30 the charge nurse differential shall be at the sole discretion of the unit 31 nursing patient care manager. It is understood that any identified relief charge nurse identified in 32 writing by the unit manager shall be entitled to the applicable charge differential when 33 carrying out such assignments in the absence of the patient care manager and charge nurse. Charge nurses will be designated in writing by the Hospital to have charge responsibilities. The charge nurse will be paid a differential of two dollars and fifty cents ($2.50) per hour for each hour worked in such charge assignments.
