Common use of Child Abuse Clause in Contracts

Child Abuse. A district employee who has reasonable cause to suspect that a student may be an abused or neglected child shall report such a case to the Montana Department of Family Services Centralized Intake Reporting System. All reporters will call the statewide phone number, 0-000-000-0000. The employee shall notify the Superintendent that the report has been made. Any of the District’s employees who fail to report to the Department of Family Services Centralized Intake Reporting System known or suspected cases of child abuse or neglect, or who prevent another person from reasonably doing so may be civilly liable for the damages proximately caused by such failure or prevention, and are guilty of a misdemeanor.
