Child Rearing Leaves. 1. In cases of natural birth, the employee may request an unpaid leave of absence to commence upon conclusion of the disability period related to the birth of a child. Such leave shall be requested in writing contemporaneously with the notice required under subparagraph a. of A.1. above. Subject to law, the request shall be granted for a period ending with the employee’s work year following the birth of the child.
