EMPLOYEES who are currently teaching out-of-field or have been assigned out-of-field for a future assignment shall be reimbursed for courses that will lead to certification in the assigned field, excluding assignments where an endorsement will satisfy the out-of-field requirement (reimbursement shall be at 100% of the average resident tuition rate established by the Florida State Board of Regents for Florida State Universities as of September 1). d. EMPLOYEES who take courses that qualify for reimbursement from the DOE shall request reimbursement from that source and shall not be eligible for local reimbursement. e. Graduate level courses required to become an approved dual-enrollment instructor as approved by the SUPERINTENDENT (reimbursement shall be at 100% of the average resident tuition rate established by the Florida State Board of Regents for Florida State Universities as of September 1). f. Courses required to earn an initial Florida Professional Teaching Certificate.

College Credit Reimbursement. A. Bargaining unit members are encouraged to participate in educational conferences, seminars, and workshops. Twelve (12) month administrators/supervisors who wish to attend summer school must have the approval of the Superintendent of Schools. B. College Credit Reimbursement - Bargaining unit members will be reimbursed for the cost of college courses up to six (6) hours earned from July 1 of one (1) year to June 30 of the following year. College Credit Reimbursement. (a) Starting with the second year of employment, each teacher shall be reimbursed for the life of this Agreement one Hundred Thirty Dollars ($130) per semester hour up to a maximum of eighteen (18) semester hours’ credit per calendar year, September 1 through August 31, for course work completed when credit is earned with a grade of B or better in college courses appropriate to a teacher's current teaching assignment and having prior approval of the administration. Prior approval shall be interpreted to mean that the teacher has made written application to the Superintendent, listing and briefly describing the course and/or courses to be taken, with approval having been made before the initial meeting of the courses involved. Superintendent shall have the authority to grant approval for course work outside the teacher's current teaching assignment. (b) Teachers who return to college to acquire certification in areas where critical teacher shortages exist shall be eligible for college credit reimbursement. The Board of Education, with the advice of the administration, shall determine the areas in which Mt. Xxxxxx Township High School has critical teacher shortages. (c) When, by reason of completed course work, a teacher believes he/she is eligible for reimbursement hereunder, he/she shall file written notice of entitlement with the Superintendent. A certified transcript or official report card supporting such notice of entitlement shall accompany the notice provided that, if a report card is used, a certified transcript will be provided as soon as it is available. Reimbursement shall be made by the Board no later than thirty (30) days following the receipt by the Superintendent of the notice of entitlement and certified transcript.
College Credit Reimbursement. 12.01 Subject to the limitations stated below, the Board shall reimburse a teacher for the cost of: A. Credit courses taken in the teacher’s area of certification/licensure, assignment and all other education courses at an accredited college or university; B. Other credit courses taken, with the prior approval of the Superintendent, which directly relate to performance of the teacher’s duties as a teacher in Vermilion. The Board will appropriate an annual amount of $40,000 for tuition reimbursement. The maximum total payment per teacher per year under this Section, 12.01, shall be fifty percent (50%) of the cost of the courses taken or one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500), whichever is less. Should requests exceed the annual appropriated amount, reimbursement will be made in a proportional amount (i.e., number of approved requests divided by the full appropriation amount). 12.02 To be eligible for any payments: A. The teacher must complete the ensuing school year as a teacher for Vermilion. B. Course work must be scheduled at times that do not interfere with the normal duties of a teacher. C. Requests for reimbursement must be made BEFORE COURSE COMPLETION on the proper form. (Appendix D) D. The teacher must present proof of satisfactory completion of the course work. (i.e., a grade of “C” or better, or “Passing” if the course is graded on a Pass/Fail basis under 12.01) E. The teacher must present satisfactory documentation of all costs on the proper form for which reimbursement is sought. (Appendix D) Reimbursement will be made by October 15th for course work completed in the prior school year provided the teacher has fully complied with all documentation requirements of this Article by September 30th. F. The teacher must be an active employee of the Board at the time the course work is taken (for example, a teacher on a leave of absence would not qualify). 12.03 The term “cost,” as used in this Article, is defined as charges for tuition and required textbooks.
College Credit Reimbursement. Teachers shall be reimbursed up to 50% of credit hour cost for college level classes, under the following conditions: A. Classes eligible for reimbursement must be graduate level classes required for continuing teacher certification or to enhance the professional qualifications of the teacher. B. Coursework must be specific to student growth in areas of instruction, assessment, curriculum development, special education, technology, guidance/counseling or administration. C. For course/credit reimbursement, the teacher shall submit to the superintendent a credit approval form for pre-approval prior to the start of the course. D. Maximum number of hours eligible for reimbursement is limited to six (6) credit hours per eligible teacher, per year. E. The teacher must be employed, at least half-time in the district, when enrolled in eligible classes, as well as when the class is completed. F. Application for reimbursement shall first be due no later than October 1 for classes completed the previous year (September 1 through August 31). Records indicating course completion and a grade of at least a “B” shall be required, along with a statement of how the class fits into an educational plan or professional qualifications. G. The total funds available for reimbursement in 2003-2004 will be $9,989 which includes $2,589 carry-over from the previous year, and an additional $7,400 will be added for the 2004-2005 school year. The Board will add an additional $7,500 for each year of the contract to the remaining balance from the previous year in this fund. Distribution will be at a rate of up to 50% of the cost of each class. Reimbursement will be based on the cost of one on campus graduate credit hour at WMU as of July of the enrollment year
College Credit Reimbursement. After teaching two full-time years in the District and while under contract, each certified staff member shall receive reimbursement as follows: 1. $350 per semester as part of an approved first Master’s degree program. 2. Up to 100% but not less than $350 per semester hour tuition reimbursement with the percentage determined at the discretion of the District for any coursework which the district requests an employee to complete. 3. All reimbursement is contingent upon receiving a grade of “B” or better. 4. Course approval and Master’s program approval rests solely at the discretion of the District, including the amount to be reimbursed subject to sub section 2. The District maintains the right to identify how many teachers, and which teachers, will be approved. 5. Staff members may not take more than 15 graduate credits in an academic year (August 15 – August 14) unless approved by the Superintendent. Reimbursement for an approved course shall be evidenced by official transcripts. All transcripts must be submitted within one year of completion of the course for reimbursement. Lane movement will be applied (retroactively) to the first paycheck of the school year if transcripts are submitted prior to October 15. After which date, any lane movement will be applied to the subsequent school year. Board reimbursement to members of the Association will occur in the following manner: Acquisition of National Board Teacher Certification (NBCT) will be acknowledged by awarding 15 hours of graduate course credit toward salary lane advancement. Association members at MS+60, who acquire NBCT and, therefore are not eligible for further advancement on the salary schedule, will be granted a one-time payment of $2000 in lieu of the aforementioned 15 hours credit. No provisions of this clause will be applied retroactively to teachers who have previously acquired NBCT. Graduate coursework completed after acquiring a Master's degree will be eligible for lane advancement only and not tuition reimbursement. Such coursework must be approved by both the division leader and building principal. Rationale for refusal of coursework must be shared in writing. An appeal process will consist of a joint committee of administration (4 people appointed by the superintendent) and Association members (4 people appointed by the Association president). The committee will meet monthly to review appeals. Stalemates will be resolved using a rotating tie breaker system. The first tie-breaker stale...
