Common use of Childbearing Clause in Contracts

Childbearing. i. After completion of the probationary period, a paid leave of absence of up to eight (8) calendar weeks may be granted to an employee for the purpose of childbearing. Days of paid leave shall be deducted from sick leave and the total number of paid leave days granted under this Section A shall be limited to the number of days of sick leave the employee has accrued. Employees who wish to take such leave shall notify the Director of Human Resources or designee in writing as soon as practical, but in no event later than sixty (60) days prior to the date a leave is to commence, except in the case of a medical emergency.
