Common use of CITY INITIATED GRIEVANCE Clause in Contracts

CITY INITIATED GRIEVANCE. 1. In the event that the City initiates a grievance against the Union, it will be forwarded in writing by the appointing authority or designee to the Union. 2. Within ten (10) business days from the receipt of the grievance the Union will meet with the City in an attempt to resolve the grievance. 3. Should the parties not be able to resolve the grievance at this meeting, the Union will have ten (10) business days from the day of the meeting to respond in writing. 4. Should no satisfactory agreement be reached, the City may proceed with arbitration as set forth in Section H above.‌
