Communications Training Officer. Any Bargaining Unit member who serves as a training officer (training a probationary member) shall be credited with one (1) additional hour of service for every eight (8) hours of training spent with the trainee. This additional hour of service shall be paid at one and one-half (1 ½) times the Bargaining Unit member’s regular hourly rate and may not be converted to compensatory time. Training assignments shall be assigned by the Director of Communications and Central Alarm Center or designee and will not be paid unless officially assigned by the Director or designee. In order to be eligible to be assigned as a training officer, a member must have completed the new hire probation period and have served at least one (1) additional year as an OSU Public Safety Dispatcher.
Communications Training Officer. The Village shall compensate employees, at the rate of one (1) additional hour, at straight time pay, for each shift that such employees are authorized to, and actually perform, as a Communications Training Officer. The Village shall be obligated to make only one (1) such CTO payment per shift. Such compensation may be taken in pay or in compensatory time, subject to the maximum accrual of compensatory time.
