Conditions of Employment for Substitutes and Reporting Responsibilities. Substitute instructors shall be paid an hourly rate in accordance with the following table and shall receive only statutory benefits, for a period of up to 4 weeks for any single assignment. In the event that a substitute instructor cannot be provided, the Xxxx may request a full-time instructor, whom he/she judges to be qualified, to provide instruction for the class(es) affected by the absence of the regular instructor. When a full-time instructor has taught five (5) hours ‘in relief’, he/she shall be granted one (1) additional day of vacation at a time mutually agreed upon by the Faculty Member and his/her Xxxx or receive payment at his/her current salary rate, at the discretion of the Xxxx.

This hourly rate shall be increased by average percentage increases reflected in the salary scale. Faculty members with part-time appointments who accept substitute work will be compensated for their work as substitutes under the provisions of this clause.
