Common use of CONTRACT MAINTENANCE COMMITTEE Clause in Contracts

CONTRACT MAINTENANCE COMMITTEE. The Employer and the Union agree that the problem solving of issues at the lowest levels is in the interest of all parties. In an effort to allow this, the parties agree to create a Contract Maintenance Committee (“CMC”). The Contract Maintenance Committee (CMC) will serve the purpose of clarifying and interpreting contract language and application of that language, but will not conduct bargaining. Procedures for accomplishing the task of interpreting contract language and application will be established through mutual agreement of the CMC membership. The work of this committee is considered advisory and will not replace the grievance process as outlined above. The CMC will operate with the following expectations:
