Common use of CONTRIBUTION TO NON-CAREER EMPLOYEES Clause in Contracts

CONTRIBUTION TO NON-CAREER EMPLOYEES. ‌ a. Benefit eligible non-career employees (+1,040 hours) shall receive prorated City dollars as indicated in 8.1(b). T Except as provided herein, the City dollars shall be applied toward the premiums for City-sponsored medical, dental, and vision insurance plans for eligible employees and qualified dependents, if any. b. To be eligible for City dollars under this Section, a non-career employee must be paid for a minimum of forty (40) hours of work on each pay period. If an employee fails to be paid for the minimum forty (40) hours necessary to receive the City contribution, the City shall deduct from the employee's paycheck the amount needed to pay for the insurance plans, which the employee has selected. If this deduction from the employee's paycheck cannot be made in its entirety, it is the responsibility of the individual employee to pay for the remaining amount. Failure to do so before the end of the calendar month including such paycheck(s) shall automatically drop the employee from the City- sponsored insurance program until the next open enrollment period.
