Conversion Upon Retirement or Death. At the time of any PERS retirement or death, an employee shall be paid 1/3 the value of his accrued but unused sick leave credit based upon the rate of pay at the time of retirement or death not to exceed thirty (30) days. Such payment shall be made once and shall eliminate all sick leave accrued by the employee.
