Coverage for Employees Who Are Totally Disabled. Where a totally disabled employee is not eligible for the Long Term Income Protection Plan, the employee’s Supplementary Health and Hospital Insurance coverage shall continue so long as the employee is receiving benefits under the Short Term Sickness Plan or is using accumulated credits, or beyond that point, if the employee chooses to pay the full premium for continued coverage. In such cases, if the employee is subsequently approved for benefits under the Long Term Income Protection Plan, the employee will be reimbursed for any premiums paid directly by the employee.
