Creating a Diverse Workforce. The Union supports and participates in activities and initiatives of the City related to the recruitment and selection of a diverse workforce. Activities include participation in the evaluation and renewal the City’s Apprenticeship Affirmative Action Program. Union members are encouraged to volunteer and support minority related activities within the community, with the purpose of community engagement and demonstrating that the City of Springfield is a welcoming place of employment for underrepresented groups.
