Common use of Cross Union Appointments Clause in Contracts

Cross Union Appointments. An employee performing work covered by this Collective Agreement and other collective agreements, will pay Union dues on a pro-rata basis based upon their workloads in those agreements. Employees who have a workload of fifty percent (50%) or more in this Collective Agreement will receive the benefits of this Collective Agreement. Employees who are entitled to benefits as a result of the combined workload under this Agreement and other agreements will receive the benefits of the Agreement where the majority of the work is performed. If the workload is equal, the employee will be given the choice of which agreement will apply for benefit purposes. Recommendations for cross-union appointments will be made in accordance with Article 8. The College shall offer the employee the cross-union appointment in writing including the terms and conditions of the appointment and shall notify the Union of the appointment with a copy of the offer. Movement on the salary scale will be based on each full year of employment with the college, not each full year of employment within each bargaining unit.
