Data Analysis Approach. The data of the tests were analyzed using statistical program SPSS, which, according to Xxxxx (2011), “is probably the most common statistical data-analysis software package used in educational research” (p. 73). Firstly, the available data was coded in the computer program. Then, the reliability analysis was conducted in order to define some gaps, either in the process of filling in the answers or coding the data. Descriptive statistics was used to provide an overall picture about participants‟ levels of emotional intelligence and the quality of their relationships with teachers. In the next step, I used inferential analysis by applying independent samples t-test to compare the mean score on some continuous variables for two different groups of participants. To be more specific, I used this analysis to compare how teacher-student relationships and emotional intelligence separately vary according to students' gender, age and language of instruction. Then, I applied correlational analysis and interpreted Xxxxxxx product-moment correlation coefficients to get understanding on the relationship between students‟ age, gender, language of instruction, and teacher-student relationships and emotional intelligence separately. At the very end, multiple linear regressions were conducted to predict the effect of students‟ level of emotional intelligence on teacher-student relationships.
