Death in Service. a. In the event of the death of a teacher in the employ of the Board, the Board shall pay to the widow or widower of the deceased, or if there be no widow or widower to those relatives of the employee, if any, who are directly dependent on the employee's salary for their livelihood, the salary for the days taught in the month in which the employee died, plus one additional month's salary. b. The Board shall continue to provide the medical, extended health and dental benefits to the dependents of the deceased teacher for a period of three (3) months after the death of the teacher. The dependents shall be notified in writing of the terms of this provision.
