Common use of Death of a Near Relative Clause in Contracts

Death of a Near Relative. When a death of a near relative occurs, a member of the bargaining unit may be absent, without loss of pay, for a period of one day except when the distance to be traveled exceeds 275 miles one way, at which time the member of the bargaining unit may be absent without loss of pay, for a period of two days. Any further approved absence will be without loss of pay at the discretion of the Superintendent.
