Reimbursement for Unused Sick Leave. Teachers who end employment in USD 320 shall be reimbursed for unused sick leave in the following manner: A teacher who has accumulated sick leave that is greater than one-half the number of days which that teacher can accumulate in the years he/she has served in this district shall receive with the final check the following:
Reimbursement for Unused Sick Leave. As of the end of each fiscal year, the MISA member will be reimbursed for four (4) days of unused sick leave per year. To qualify for reimbursement, the employee’s accrued basic leave must total at least 65 days as of April 30 with less than four (4) days of sick leave being used during the previous twelve (12) months. Reimbursement for Unused Sick Leave. ‌ 1. Any EP employee who has completed twenty (20) or more years of service with the Wissahickon School District and provides written notification to the Human Resources Director of the District on or before the March 1 date immediately preceding their retirement, which will be effective July 1 of that year and who retires under the Pennsylvania School Employees' Retirement System (PSERS), the school district shall make a non-elective employer contribution to the employee's 403(b) retirement program in an amount equal to $50.00 for the first one hundred fifty (150) unused sick days, and twenty-five dollars for each unused sick day beyond one hundred fifty (150). The employee shall receive no cash option. a. This benefit will not be unreasonably denied when exigent circumstances are present. b. The March 1 notification date does not apply to mid-year retirements. 2. Any ESP employee who has completed twenty (20) or more years of service to the Wissahickon School District and who qualifies for superannuation retirement and who retires under the Pennsylvania School Employees Retirement System (PSERS) will be paid $25.00 for each unused sick leave day up to a maximum of one hundred fifty (150) days. An employee who has elected to receive the Retirement Salary Consideration pursuant to Article V, Section Q, shall be ineligible for Reimbursement for Unused Sick Leave.

Total years of service are reduced by leaves of absence of a full semester or more. 3. Employees who terminate by resignation and who have at least seven (7) continuous years of service with the District at the conclusion of the individual’s last year of employment shall be reimbursed at sixty-six and two- thirds percent (66 2/3%) of the substitute teacher’s daily rate of pay for up to two hundred twenty (220) days. Total years of service are reduced by leaves of absence of a full semester or more. 4. Employees who terminate by retirement and notify the District no later than March 1, and who have at least five (5) continuous years of service with the District at the conclusion of the individual s last year of employment shall be reimbursed at sixty-six and two-thirds percent (66 2/3%) of the substitute teacher s daily rate of pay. Total years of service are reduced by leaves of absence of a full semester or more. Employees who notify the District of their retirement prior to the following deadlines shall be reimbursed for up to two hundred forty (240) days: a.) Retire at the end of the contract term: Notify by March 1 b.) Retire at the end of the first semester: Notify by October 1 All reimbursement shall be rounded to the nearest dollar and shall be based upon the substitute teacher’s daily rate of pay in effect at the time of termination for each unused day of sick leave.
