Definition of Family Members. i. Spouse (includes common law marriage in States where it is recognized); ii. Son or Daughter is defined in terms of the child’s age and relationship to the employee. Age: son or daughter who is either under eighteen (18) years of age, or 18 years of age or older and incapable of self-care due to mental/physical disabilities; Relationship: a biological, adopted, or xxxxxx child, stepchild, a legal xxxx, or a child of a person standing in loco parentis. iii. Parent is defined as the employee’s biological parent or an individual who stands or stood in loco parentis to the employee when the employee was a son or daughter.
