Common use of Definition of Seniority Clause in Contracts

Definition of Seniority. Seniority shall be here defined as length of service in this school system, being total length counted in years and fractional parts of years. In determining length of service, absences based upon the granting of a leave of absence shall not be included. All teachers shall return to their last previous assignment unless there shall have been a transfer planned and/or effected.
