Department Chairpersons. A. The Administration may select each year from among the school faculty, Department Chairpersons in such teaching areas it may deem appropriate. The administration and teacher will mutually agree upon the expectations of the position and a timeline for completion. If issues arise regarding the performance of duties, the administration will meet with the teacher and association representative to determine an appropriate course of action. The administration reserves the right to remove the teacher from the position and to pay them a prorated rate based upon the amount of hours completed. B. The Department Chairperson shall be responsible for providing leadership in departmental coordination including, but not limited to, coordination of programs and materials, proper sequencing of objectives, and promotion and development of effective instructional techniques for department staff members. C. The Elementary School may be represented by grade-level or subject area. D. Each Department Chair will be paid a stipend of $700.00.
