Determination of General Educational Policy. The general educational policy, i.e., the objectives of an institution and the nature, range, and pace of its efforts, is shaped by (1) the institutional charter or law, (2) tradition and historical development, (3) the present needs of the community of the institution and (4) the professional standards of those directly involved in its work. a. The interest of the Board, Faculty, Administration, and Students are coordinate and related, and unilateral effort can lead to confusion or conflict and should be avoided where possible. Essential to a solution is a reasonable, explicit statement on general educational policy. Operating responsibility and authority and procedures for continuing review, should be clearly defined in official relations. b. When an educational goal has been established, it becomes the responsibility primarily of the faculty to determine appropriate curriculum and procedures of student instruction. The Board of Trustees of a county college, have powers specifically stated in the law of the State of New Jersey and all of those powers are acknowledged. c. Such matters as major changes in the size or composition of the student body and relative emphasis to be given to the various elements of the educational and research program should involve participation of the governing board, administration, and faculty prior to final decision.

Students should have successfully completed the SUNY-GER Basic Communication requirement with a grade of “C” or better, the mathematics requirement, and 5 of the remaining 8 categories.   • In-Service Education The parties recognize the value of in-service both to the employee and the Employer and shall encourage employees to participate in in-service. All employees scheduled by the Employer to attend in-service seminars shall receive regular wages.

  • Special Education Teachers Elementary/Secondary Special Education Coordinators shall be compensated for an extended work day in the amount of four thousand dollars ($4,000).

  • INSURANCE AND PROOF OF FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY Contractor understands and agrees that financial responsibility for claims or damages to any person, or to Contractor’s employees and agents, shall rest with the Contractor. Contractor and its subcontractors shall effect and maintain any insurance coverage, including, but not limited to, Workers’ Compensation, Employers’ Liability, General Liability, Contractual Liability, Automobile Liability and Umbrella Liability to support such financial obligations. The indemnification obligation, however, shall not be reduced in any way by existence or non-existence, limitation, amount or type of damages, compensation, or benefits payable under Workers’ Compensation laws or other insurance provisions. The minimum limits of insurance required of the Contractor by MPS shall be: Workers’ Compensation Statutory Limits Employers’ Liability $100,000 per occurrence General Liability $1,000,000 per occurrence/$2,000,000 aggregate Auto Liability $1,000,000 per occurrence Umbrella (excess) Liability $1,000,000 per occurrence The Milwaukee Board of School Directors shall be named as an additional insured under Contractor’s and subcontractors’ general liability insurance and umbrella liability insurance. Evidence of all required insurances of Contractor shall be submitted electronically to MPS via its third party vendor, EXIGIS Risk Management Services. Waivers and exceptions to the above limits will be in the sole discretion of MPS and shall be recorded in the EXIGIS system, which records are incorporated into this Contract by reference. The certificate of insurance or policies of insurance evidencing all coverages shall include a statement that MPS shall be afforded a thirty (30) day written notice of cancellation, non-renewal or material change by any of Contractor’s insurers providing the coverages required by MPS for the duration of this Contract.

  • Health Promotion and Health Education Both parties to this Agreement recognize the value and importance of health promotion and health education programs. Such programs can assist employees and their dependents to maintain and enhance their health, and to make appropriate use of the health care system. To work toward these goals:

  • Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act The Charter School is subject to all provisions of the Federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, 20 U.S.C. § 1232g. In the event the Charter School closes, it shall transmit all official student records in the manner prescribed by the State Board.

  • Orientation and In-Service Program The Hospital recognizes the need for a Hospital Orientation Program of such duration as it may deem appropriate taking into consideration the needs of the Hospital and the nurses involved.
