Distribution of Voluntary Overtime. The primary method for filling available overtime will be through volunteers. Management retains responsibility but delegates the day to day function of assigning overtime to the Infirmary RN on shift. Management will normally perform this task while on site except for the limited circumstances when they are unable to accomplish it in a timely manner. In these instances the task will be assigned to the Infirmary RN. When overtime work is needed, management or designee shall first ask Part-Time, Job Share or Float Pool staff who are available to work on straight time. Secondly, the staff who have signed up on the Overtime Calendar will be asked if they wish to work the overtime opportunity. If there are no volunteers from the Overtime Calendar, management or designee shall ask on-shift staff in order of the mandatory list if they wish to volunteer for the overtime opportunity. If the employee accepts the overtime assignment, the employee’s name will be moved to the bottom of the mandatory overtime list.
