Computation of Overtime. In computing overtime a period of thirty (30) minutes or less shall be counted as one-half (½) hour and a period of more than thirty (30) minutes but less than sixty (60) minutes shall be counted as one (1) hour.

Computation of Overtime. (a) The appointing authority shall establish the first day of the workweek for each position in his or her agency. The first day of an employee's workweek during the pay period shall not be changed or altered for the purpose of avoiding the payment of overtime or shift differential. (b) The smallest division of an hour to be used in computation of overtime is fifteen (15) minutes. (c) It is expected that travel between work locations shall be conducted during normal working hours. Travel time between work locations and work location or between home, if designated as office, and a work location shall be considered as time worked for purposes of computing overtime. Employees who are normally assigned to work out of their homes shall have their homes designated as their offices for purposes of this Article. Travel to and from the site of paid training is considered as time actually worked for purposes of computing overtime. Time spent for meals and the normal commutation time, when appropriate, shall be deducted from travel time to training. (d) There shall be no pyramiding or duplication of overtime payments. (e) The following hours shall be considered as time actually worked for the purpose of determining eligibility for overtime compensation: hours actually worked, hours on annual leave, compensatory time off, unworked holidays, paid VSEA leave time, court and jury duty, personal leave, time spent traveling to and from paid training (after deduction of meal time and normal commuting time). (f) Shift differential (Shift Differential Article) will be added to the basic hourly rate before cash overtime is computed. (g) Whenever an employee is scheduled to begin work on a shift within eight (8) hours after such employee has completed sixteen (16) consecutive hours of work, and such employee actually works more than sixteen (16) consecutive hours, except in case of emergency, the reporting time for such employee shall be delayed, without loss of pay, by an amount of time equal to the consecutive hours worked beyond sixteen (16) hours (hour for hour). If such employee works twenty-two (22) or more consecutive hours she/he shall be excused from reporting on such next shift without loss of pay, subject to emergency needs of the employer. Computation of Overtime. Computation of overtime shall be based on the employee's regular rate of pay. This regular rate shall include the base rate for the employee's classification plus all differentials or bonus rates to which the employee would be entitled for the overtime work performed.
Computation of Overtime. Overtime earned may be paid in wages or taken in the form of CTO at the option of the employee. Overtime, whether paid as wages or taken in the form of CTO, shall be compensated at the rate of one and one-half (1-1/2) times the employee’s regular rate of pay. No employee shall have more than 80 hours of accumulated CTO on the books at any time. CTO in excess of the 80-hour limit will be paid as wages. CTO may be taken at any time with the prior approval of the employee’s Department Manager or designee. If the use of CTO is denied, the employee may request payment as wages in lieu of the denied CTO. CTO may be used through December 31st. Any accrued CTO in excess of 40 hours as of the end of the calendar year will be paid to the employee as wages on the paycheck for the second pay period in the new calendar year.

Computation of Overtime. For the purpose of computing overtime under this Article, the exact time worked, rounded to the nearest quarter hour, shall be accounted for, which shall be paid for at the overtime rate. There shall be no duplicate payment for daily overtime and weekly overtime. If daily overtime is greater in any one work week, only daily overtime shall be paid, or if weekly overtime is greater in any one work week, only weekly overtime shall be paid. There shall be no pyramiding of overtime.
Computation of Overtime. Overtime will be reported by each employee on a time card which shows the exact amount of overtime worked. If an employee in a classification covered by this MOU is called from home to work overtime, the time worked to be entered on the time card shall start at the time leaving home, and at ten (10) minutes after leaving the Service Center. Overtime will be computed to the nearest one-tenth (1/10) of an hour.
