Duration of Term Appointments. Except for a faculty member whose initial employment as a faculty member commences after the beginning of an academic year, a faculty member employed pursuant to a term appointment shall be given a written notice of appointment for a specific term of one (1) academic year or three (3) academic years. A faculty member employed pursuant to a term appointment, whose initial employment as a faculty member commences after the beginning of an academic year, shall be given a written notice of appointment for a term which may expire: (1) at the end of the next succeeding academic year; or (2) at the end of the third (3rd) succeeding academic year. If the term expires at the end of the next succeeding academic year, it shall be deemed an appointment for a term of one (1) academic year for the purposes of Section 4.2(B) and (C) of this Article. If the term expires at the end of the third (3rd) succeeding academic year, it shall be deemed an appointment for a term of three (3) academic years for the purposes of Section 4.2(B) and (C) of this Article.

  • Fixed Term Appointment (a) An employee and an employer may agree that the employment of the employee will end:
