Educational Hours and Expenses. The Agency shall provide an annual 13 maximum of 840 educational hours paid at straight-time rates for nurses who have been 14 employed by the Agency for at least six months, to attend non-mandatory educational 15 programs either on site or off site. The Agency shall further provide an annual 16 maximum of $32,000 to assist participating nurses in meeting registration fees and 17 related expenses in conjunction with attending such educational programs. Such days 18 and funds shall be allocated proportionally to each program, subject to being pooled 19 together on or after February 1 of each year and determined based on protocols set by 20 the Professional Nursing Care Committee. Educational days and funds must be used 21 for bona fide education related to the nurse’s position or likely nursing opportunities 22 within the Agency, which will benefit both the Agency and the nurse.
