PROFESSIONAL NURSING CARE COMMITTEE. A. Recognition - A Professional Nursing Care Committee shall be established at the Medical Center.
PROFESSIONAL NURSING CARE COMMITTEE. 6.5.1 The nurses in the bargaining unit shall elect from its membership not to exceed six (6) members of the unit who shall constitute the Professional Nursing Care Committee. No patient care unit may have more than one representative on the Professional Nursing Care Committee. The PNCC shall elect one of its direct care nurse members to serve as chair.
PROFESSIONAL NURSING CARE COMMITTEE. 17.1 Recognition. Professional Nursing Care Committee shall be established at the Medical Center. Its objectives shall include:
a. Coordinating constructive and collaborative approaches with the Medical Center to problem solving regarding professional issues.
b. Considering the improvement of patient care.
c. Considering issues related to the practice of nursing.
d. Working to improve patient care and nursing practice.
e. Recommending to the Medical Center ways and means to improve patient care.
PROFESSIONAL NURSING CARE COMMITTEE. Recognition: A Professional Nursing Care Committee (PNCC) may be 10 established at the Hospital.
PROFESSIONAL NURSING CARE COMMITTEE. 16.1 The Association bargaining unit at the Medical Center shall select the members of the Professional Nursing Care Committee from bargaining unit employees. This
16.2 This Committee shall convene and meet once every other month unless cancelled by mutual agreement to respond to specific circumstances that may arise in the area of professional nursing care. The Association shall select its respective members of the Committee each time it is convened. The Committee shall set the meeting schedule, and may meet more often upon mutual agreement. Each Committee member shall be entitled to up to two (2) paid hours at the nurse’s regular straight-time rate for attendance at Committee meetings.
16.3 The Committee shall prepare an agenda, and provide such agenda to the Chief Nurse Executive one week in advance of the meeting, and keep minutes for all its meetings, a copy of which shall be provided to the Chief Nurse Executive within fourteen (14) calendar days.. Agenda items may be introduced by Association representatives or by the Medical Center, provided, however, that neither the Association nor the Medical Center shall be required to address subjects of bargaining and/or contractual issues in the Committee.
16.4 The Committee shall focus on issues that provide for the improvement of patient care and nursing practice.
16.5 The Chief Nurse Executive, or designee, shall meet with the Committee upon request of the Committee for the purpose of exchanging information. The Committee may provide the Chief Nurse Executive, or designee, with recommendations on pertinent subjects including the financial soundness of any proposal.
16.6 The Medical Center recognizes the responsibility of the Committee to recommend measures objectively to improve patient care and will duly consider such recommendations and will advise the Committee of action taken.
PROFESSIONAL NURSING CARE COMMITTEE.
13.1 Recognition - A Professional Nursing Care Committee shall be established at the Hospital.
13.2 Responsibility - The Hospital recognizes the responsibility of the Committee to recommend measures objectively to improve patient care and will duly consider such recommendations and advise the Committee in writing of the action taken within fifteen (15) working days.
PROFESSIONAL NURSING CARE COMMITTEE.
18.1 A Professional Nursing Care Committee (PNCC) shall be established at the hospital. The objective of the committee shall be to constructively consider the practice of nurses, work constructively for the improvement in nursing care and nursing practice, recommend to the Hospital ways and means to improve patient care, work constructively with the Hospital in the development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and modification of a staffing plan.
18.2 The Committee shall be composed of three (3) Registered Nurses employed at the hospital and covered by this Agreement. The committee members shall be elected by the Registered Nurse staff of the hospital.
PROFESSIONAL NURSING CARE COMMITTEE. The Employer recognizes the Professional Nursing Care Committee (PNCC) as a resource to direct care nurses in OHSU’s hospital and clinics on matters related to patient care and professional development.
PROFESSIONAL NURSING CARE COMMITTEE. 3 A. The bargaining unit of the Hospital shall elect from its membership not to exceed seven 4 members of the unit who, along with not more than two representatives from the nursing 5 administration, shall constitute the Professional Nursing Care Committee.
7 B. This committee shall meet monthly at a set time and date. Each committee member from 8 the bargaining unit shall be compensated at the Nurse's regular straight-time rate of pay for all 9 hours while in attendance at the committee meetings.
11 C. The committee shall prepare an agenda and keep minutes for all of its meetings, copies of 12 which shall be provided to the Chief Nursing Officer, or designee.
13 D. The committee shall consider matters which are not proper subjects to be processed 14 through the grievance procedure, including the improvements of patient care, nursing practice.
16 E. The purpose of the PNCC is to:
17 1. Make recommendations for improvements in patient care and nursing 18 practice.
19 2. Improve communication between staff nurses and nursing administration.
20 3. Members of PNCC participate in the Education Committee and make 21 recommendations on Education Request forms for continuing education 22 funds.
23 4. Participate in development of a strategic plan for nursing and for the facility.
24 5. Research, develop and implement innovations in patient care delivery at 25 Legacy Silverton Medical Center.
26 6. Review and respond to initiatives which enhance patient/family education by 27 nurses.
28 7. Create and celebrate a nursing environment at LSMC which is excellent.
PROFESSIONAL NURSING CARE COMMITTEE. A. The nurses in the bargaining unit shall elect from its membership not to exceed eight (8) members of the unit who shall constitute the Professional Nursing Care Committee.
B. This Committee shall meet not more than twice a month at such times so as not to conflict with the routine duty requirements. Each Committee member shall be entitled to up to two (2) paid hours per month at the nurse’s regular straight-time rate, not including shift differential, for the purpose of attending Committee meetings.
C. The Committee shall prepare an agenda and keep minutes for all of its meetings, copies of which shall be provided to the Medical Center’s designated nurse executive within a month days after each meeting.
D. The Committee shall consider matters which are not proper subjects to be processed through the grievance procedure, including the improvements of patient care and nursing practice.
E. The Medical Center recognizes the responsibility of the Committee to recommend measures objectively to improve patient care and will duly consider such recommendations and will so advise the Committee of action taken.
