EFFECT OF ABSENCE ON CONTINUOUS SERVICE. Absence on authorized leave without pay, and time during which an employee is laid off because his or his/her services are not needed, and time during which an employee is temporarily not employed by the County, if followed by re-employment within three (3) years, shall not be considered as an interruption of continuous service for the purpose of this subsection; Section, but the period of time such employee is absent on authorized leave without pay or so laid off or so temporarily not employed shall not be counted in computing such years of continuous employment for the purpose of this subsectionSection, provided provided, further, that, for the purposes of qualifying for fifteen, twenty or twenty-five (25) working days’ days of vacation leave, where a person an employee has been employed by the County without interruption for the past ten (10) years, all service of such employee shall be deemed to have been continuous.
