Eligibility for Leave. A bargaining unit member will be entitled, upon request, to a leave to begin at any time between the birth of the member's child and one (1) year thereafter. Said member will notify the Superintendent in writing of his/her desire to take such leave and, except in cases of emergency, shall give such notice at least thirty (30) days prior to the date on which his/her leave is to begin.
