Emergencies, Bereavement Leave (Ed. Code 44985) Every certificated employee is entitled to leave of absence because of death of any member of his/her immediate family as listed in the chart below. No deduction shall be made from the employee's salary nor will this absence be deducted from his/her sick leave.
