Common use of Emergency Conditions Clause in Contracts

Emergency Conditions. If in the sole discretion of the Mayor it is determined that extreme civil emergency conditions exist, including, but not limited to, riots, civil disorders, tornado conditions, floods, financial emergency, or other similar catastrophes, the provisions of this Agreement may be temporarily suspended by the Mayor or the City Council during the time of the declared emergency conditions; provided that wages shall not be suspended nor shall this Section limit an employee's right to invoke the Grievance Procedure over the issue of pay.
