Employer and Union Shall Acquaint Potential Employees. 6.01 The Employer agrees to acquaint potential Employees with the fact that a Union agreement is in effect. 6.02 Within thirty (30) days of employment the Xxxxxxx or representative shall introduce him/herself to the new Employee as the Employee’s Union Xxxxxxx or representative. The Xxxxxxx or representative shall provide such Employee with a copy of the Collective Agreement and the Constitution and By-Laws of the Union, and will be given an opportunity to interview each new Employee within regular working hours, without loss of pay, for a maximum of thirty (30) minutes, for the purpose of acquainting the new Employee with the benefits and duties of Union membership and Employee’s responsibilities and obligations to the Employer and the Union. 6.03 If Employees are on shift at the time of union meetings, they may be expected to forego the union meeting and continue with their job functions or attend union meetings and be docked pay or use compensatory time with the prior approval of the Employer and as long as necessary coverage is maintained.
