EMPLOYMENT POLICY AND UNION MEMBERSHIP. 6.01 The Union and the Employer will cooperate in maintaining a desirable and competent labour force. The Employer will give preference to qualified union members who are able to meet the requirements of the job. The Employer will submit the names, social insurance numbers and classifications of all requested employees to the Union office in Edmonton for approval by the Union. The Employer will ensure that this is accomplished prior to commencement of employment. If the Union is not able to supply the number of qualified employees required by the Employer, the Employer will be able to hire from outside the Union membership, provided however that such employees must nevertheless obtain a union dispatch slip and provide it to the Employer before commencing work. The Union agrees to promptly process dispatch slip requests and they will not be unreasonably withheld.
