Employment Status During Layoff. An employee on layoff shall retain employment status and benefits accrued to the date of commencement of layoff, but that employee shall not accrue seniority and benefits while on layoff. Upon reinstatement, the employee shall have previously accrued seniority and eligible benefits restored and the employee shall again commence accruing seniority and benefits.
