ESTABLISHMENT OF NEW RATE. The establishment, during the term of this Agreement, of a wage rate for a new job classification, a reactivated classification or for the operation of new equipment installed during such term shall be subject to negotiation. The parties shall agree to the effective date of such new rate. If negotiation has failed to bring about an agreement on a rate therefore, it shall be referred to arbitration at the request of either party.

The establishment, during the term of this Agreementagreement, of a new wage rate rates for a new job classificationclassifications, a reactivated classification or for the operation of new equipment installed during such term which brings about increased responsibility, for increased areas of responsibility on existing jobs as required by the Company, or in cases where job duties of separate job classifications have been combined, shall be subject to negotiation. The parties shall agree to the effective date of such new rate. If negotiation has failed to bring about an agreement on a rate therefore, it shall be referred to arbitration at the request of either party.
