Common use of Exceptional Merit Increases Clause in Contracts

Exceptional Merit Increases. 1. Employees with commendation level performance may be granted an Exceptional Merit Increase for a maximum of a one-step increase to the next consecutive step within the salary range, unless in conjunction with a normal merit increase where a maximum two step increase would be permitted. Exceptional Merit Increases not done in conjunction with a normal merit increase will be effective at the beginning of a pay period and can be no earlier than the pay period in which the supervisor delegated the responsibility by the Appointing Authority.
