Common use of Exchange of Shifts Clause in Contracts

Exchange of Shifts. (a) Employees may exchange shifts with other qualified employees, in writing with the approval of the Employer, provided that, whenever possible, sufficient advance notice in writing is given and provided that there is no increase in cost to the Employer. (b) Once the employees have exchanged shifts by written notice, the changes become part of the posted shift schedule. Any subsequent changes to the shift become the responsibility of the employee who has accepted the change to ensure that shift is covered.
