Extended Teaching Service (Eligibility Procedure). A member of the bargaining unit who has completed a minimum of ten (10) complete academic years of full-time service at the University, who is eligible for retirement under the provisions of the Ohio State Teachers Retirement System (STRS) or his/her alternative retirement plan, and who retires under STRS or his/her alternative retirement plan may be placed on Extended Teaching Service (ETS) upon recommendation of the department faculty (See Article 9.3a(9) [10]). Those retiring under the provisions of STRS must wait for the legally mandated number of days after retirement before beginning an ETS assignment. Faculty seeking a departmental recommendation for ETS shall notify the department chairperson no later than November 15. Those retiring under the provisions of STRS must wait for the legally mandated number of days after retirement before beginning an ETS assignment. Faculty seeking a departmental recommendation for ETS shall notify the department chair no later than November 15. The recommendations of the department and the chair shall be forwarded to the applicant and xxxx no later than December 15. The xxxx shall make his or her own recommendation and then shall forward the request for approval to the xxxxxxx. If the recommendations of the de- partment, the chair, and the xxxx are favorable, the xxxxxxx will concur. If one or more of the previ- ous recommendations is unfavorable, then the xxxxxxx will make the final determination. Except in cases where the applicant’s department is undergoing retrenchment, denial of ETS status at any of the four levels shall be based solely on performance-related criteria. Individuals on ETS shall not re- tain tenure, shall not be members of the bargaining unit specified in Article 2 of this Agreement, shall not be considered full-time employees, and shall not be eligible for the University’s health care insurance coverage. Chairs are eligible for ETS provided that the individual has completed a minimum of ten (10) com- plete years of full-time service at the University with at least one of those years as a bargaining unit member. A chair seeking ETS shall directly notify the xxxx no later than November 15. The Xxxx will in turn notify the faculty of the department within ten (10) days. The recommendations of the department shall be determined by secret ballot and forwarded directly to the xxxx no later than De- cember 15 or the business day closest to it.

  • Level of Service 4.1.1 Each Member and New Market Entrant shall:

  • Teaching Schedule Teaching schedules shall be established, if practicable, so that the time between the beginning of the first assignment and the end of the last for any one day does not exceed eight (8) hours.

  • Teaching Load Full teaching assignments shall normally include 12 course credit hours of scheduled teaching per academic quarter. A reassignment of duty, for the equivalent of 3 or 4 credit course, shall be provided during one term of the first academic year to all newly hired tenure track faculty to further their teaching, scholarship and service and to encourage faculty retention. Wherever possible the University will endeavor to arrange teaching schedules that avoid excessive numbers of preparations and recognize evening and/or off-campus assignments. Class sizes will be established and monitored by the appropriate academic xxxx in consultation with division chairs and affected faculty each term. The following equivalencies will be used in determining teaching assignments:

  • Teaching Loads The range of teaching loads, number of preparations and number of pupil contacts required should provide for effective instruction and meaningful teacher-student interaction. DPS and the Association agree to work together to seek increased state funding to decrease class size. The principal shall report to the CSC, after the roster verification process, the number of students in each class and this will be published in the CSC minutes on the school’s website. For the purposes of this section, a “class” shall be defined as any general education, including electives and model one classes. Upon request, after the roster verification process, the District shall provide the Association with the student information management system data regarding class enrollment.

  • Period of Services Unless otherwise stated herein, the Consultant will begin work after receipt of a properly executed copy of this Agreement. This Agreement assumes conditions permitting continuous and orderly progress through completion of the services. Times for performance shall be extended as necessary for delays or suspensions due to circumstances that the Consultant does not control. If such delay or suspension extends for more than six months, Consultant’s compensation shall be renegotiated.

  • Client Eligibility Client eligibility and service referral are the responsibility of DDA under chapter 388- 823 WAC (Eligibility) and chapter 388-825 WAC (Service Rules). Only persons referred by DDA shall be eligible for direct Client services under this Program Agreement. It is DDA’s responsibility to determine and authorize the appropriate direct service(s) type. Direct Client services provided without authorization are not reimbursable under this Program Agreement.

  • TEACHING HOURS AND TEACHING LOAD A. As professionals, teachers are expected to devote to their assignments the time necessary to meet their responsibilities, but they shall not be required to “clock in or clock out” by hours and minutes. Teachers shall indicate their presence for duty by placing their signature and time in the proper column of the faculty “sign-in” roster.
