Fairer Scotland Fund. This SOA incorporates funding made available through Fairer Scotland Funding, although this will not be the only source of funding which will be utilised to deliver the outcomes set out here. The key principles of the Fairer Scotland Fund are: • Tackling the root causes of concentrated and persistent poverty, not its symptoms • Making early interventions for and with vulnerable individuals, families and disadvantaged communities • Promoting and improving joint working between local partners • Focussing action on improving employability as a key means of tackling poverty • Empowering communities and individuals to influence and inform the decisions made by CPPs. The fund will be deployed in relation to outcomes set out in this agreement through a new methodology, which will centre on formally procuring and commissioning service providers. The approach is designed to secure improved outcomes by an effective procurement process.
Fairer Scotland Fund. This is monies committed by Aberdeen City Council, but invested by Community Planning partners and community representatives to tackle poverty and deprivation and prevent associated negative outcomes; - Whole System Approach – Community Planning Aberdeen is running collaborative pilots, at a local level, focusing on educational attainment and community safety which are exploring how partners’ activity and resources can be used to improve outcomes and reduce long term costs through prevention;
Fairer Scotland Fund. Background East Dunbartonshire has received an allocation from the Fairer Scotland Fund (FSF) which amounts to £1.57 million over the three years from 2008 - 2011. This fund is being used to galvanise mainstream Council and partner resources to tackle the root causes of poverty and deprivation. The Fund incorporates seven former funding streams and therefore represents a reduction in reporting requirements. The fund is ring-fenced for the first two years and from 2010/11 it will be awarded to local authorities as part of their block allocations from the Scottish Government.

Fairer Scotland Fund. The Outcome Agreement incorporates our commitments made via the Fairer Scotland Fund in respect of regenerating the most disadvantaged communities, improving the life chances of individuals and groups experiencing poverty and disadvantage, tackling health inequalities and improving employability, particularly for young people and other hard to reach groups. The strategic deployment of the Fairer Scotland Fund in North Lanarkshire is an integral part of this Outcome Agreement and is linked to the following local outcomes and associated indicators: • Improved support to progress people towards learning and training opportunities and sustainable employment • Strong, sustainable communities and more attractive places to live and visit • Increased number of young people in education, employment and training • Increased number of learning opportunities for adults • Impact upon disorder, antisocial behaviour, violence and abuse within our communities • Increased number of people able to make healthier choices for their diet and nutrition • Reduced impact of smoking • Increased number of people enjoying the benefits of having a physically active life • Reduced impact of alcohol and substance use • Improved emotional wellbeing of North Lanarkshire residents
Fairer Scotland Fund. The Council has decided to integrate its focus and objectives in relation to the delivery the Fairer Scotland Fund within the Single Outcome Agreement. In the following National Outcomes the Fairer Scotland Fund proposed indicators are highlighted in bold. NATIONAL OUTCOME LAYOUT The layout of the National Outcome reflects the joint guidance issued for completing Single Outcome Agreements. It should be noted that the baselines are 2006-07 unless otherwise stated.

FAIRER SCOTLAND FUND PROGRAMME REVIEW 2008 7.1 Following the announcement of the implementation of the new Fairer Scotland Fund from 1 April 2008, the CPP Board agreed at its meeting on 6 March 2008 that full reviews of all existing projects and initiatives should be progressed to ensure that the Community Planning/SOA strategic priorities are progressed effectively.
