LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES. The School is authorized to provide learning opportunities in grades kindergarten through eight to a minimum of 25 students for a minimum of 920 hours per school year. A description of the learning opportunities that will be offered to students including both classroom-based and non-classroom-based learning opportunities that is in compliance with criteria for student participation established by the Ohio Department of Education under division (H)(2) of section 3314.08 of the Revised Code is stated in this contract and in the educational plan provided in ATTACHMENT 3. If the school uses a blended learning model, as defined in section 3301.079 of the Revised Code, additional information about the model is provided in ATTACHMENT 5.

LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES. Law Enforcement Training. The University and the PBA recognize the importance of training programs to develop skills in our law enforcement officers and supervisors. The University will make a reasonable effort to continue existing training programs in law enforcement techniques and to develop new programs, and to ensure that opportunities to attend law enforcement and salary incentive training programs are equitably distributed among employees.

LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES. .01 Firefighters who are promoted within suppression will complete a twelve (12) month learning period to develop skills in the new role. If at any time during the twelve (12) months the City determines that the promoted firefighter is not meeting the expectations of the new role, the firefighter will revert back to a previously held position and rank. If at any time during the twelve (12) months the firefighter no longer wishes to continue in their new role, the firefighter can revert back to their previously held position and rank if the position is vacant.

LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES. The SCHOOL provides learning opportunities to a minimum of twenty-five (25) students for a minimum of nine hundred and twenty (920) hours per school year. The SCHOOL will always open prior to September 30 of each year, unless the mission of the SCHOOL is solely to serve dropouts. The School agrees to be compliant with the maximum number of people allowed per room and/or per facility as stated on the Certificate(s) of Occupancy provided to the School by the local building department. An involuntary and material decrease in enrollment may be a sole good cause for nonrenewal, suspension, or termination at the discretion of the Sponsor. A material decrease in enrollment for purposes of this Section shall be an unplanned decrease not pre-approved by Sponsor of (i) below twenty-five (25) students, or (ii) thirty percent (30%) or greater decrease from the average enrollment figures of the prior four (4) or more school operating (open for students) months excluding from said thirty percent (30%) any students who have graduated from the School. If the School operates as an internet- or computer-based community school, the School shall comply with applicable enrollment limits as prescribed by R.C. 3314.20. Learning opportunities are defined to include all of the following to the extent permitted by law:
i. the SCHOOL's classroom-based instruction and other classes that are a part of the SCHOOL's curriculum, ii. tutoring,
LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES. 18.1 The University and AFSCME recognize the importance of employee career development in order to provide for employee training which will improve competencies and productivity.
A. The University will make reasonable efforts to continue existing training and development programs and to develop new programs where the University considers such programs to be beneficial.
B. The University will make good faith efforts to provide newlyhired employees with an orientation period to explain procedures, policies, standards and performance expectations of the employee, and to provide inservice development programs for employees. The University will also provide information to increase employee awareness of sexual harassment.
C. Where Supplemental Vocational Training Programs are available through State community colleges, the University shall make a reasonable effort to use this resource to provide training opportunities.
D. In accordance with the University’s established policies and procedures, an employee may be allowed administrative leave or work time for the purpose of attending short courses, institutes, and workshops which will improve performance in or gain new skills relevant to their current position.
E. The University may assign employees to attend training and development courses.
F. The University shall provide employees with appropriate inservice training in new technology, systems, equipment and business practices where the employee is required to use such in their current positions, except where such competencies are a requirement for entry into the position.
G. The University shall provide reasonable written notice to AFSCME when discontinuing a career development program which includes a salary increase component.
