Common use of Familiarization Clause in Contracts

Familiarization. The successful candidate moving to an equal paid or higher paid position within the bargaining unit will be placed on a familiarization period of up to one (1) week. During that time, either the Company or the employee may terminate the familiarization period, in which case the employee will be returned to their previous position and wage rate. If the employee’s former position no longer exists, the employee may avail himself of bumping rights as per Article 15.01.
