Filing Formal Grievance. Within fourteen (14) days after the employee first becomes aware or reasonably should have become aware of the violation, a written grievance shall be submitted to the Lieutenant. This notification must be signed by the employee and must state the issue, section of the agreement violated, facts giving rise to the grievance, and the remedy sought. This notification will be forwarded through the chain of command and will be designated as receipted, based on the date stamp of the authority designated at the appropriate step of the grievance.
