Full-Time Union or Public Duties. The Employer shall grant, on written request, leave of absence without pay. Requests shall include reasonable notice. Where possible, prior to the expiration of the leave, the employee shall notify the Employer in writing of the anticipated date of return to work. This clause applies to: (a) employees to seek election in a municipal, provincial or federal election; (b) employees selected for a full-time position with the Union or anybody to which the Union is affiliated for a period of one year, which may be renewed by mutual consent. Seniority shall not accumulate during this leave of absence beyond a period of three years; (c) employees elected to a public office for a maximum period of five years.
