Common use of Full-Time Union or Public Duties Clause in Contracts

Full-Time Union or Public Duties. The Employer will grant a leave of absence without pay to a faculty member: (a) to engage in election campaign activities in a municipal, provincial or federal election to a maximum of ninety (90) days. Such leaves will not be unreasonably denied; (b) to seek election in a municipal, provincial, or federal election to a maximum of ninety (90) days; (c) for a period of one (1) year for faculty members selected for a full-time position with the Union or anybody to which the Union is affiliated; (d) where elected to public office, for up to two (2) consecutive terms.
