FUNDING FOR INSTRUCTIONAL IMPROVEMENT LEADERS Sample Clauses

FUNDING FOR INSTRUCTIONAL IMPROVEMENT LEADERS. It is the intent of the District and the Association that funding for Instructional Improvement Leaders (IIL) will be allocated for the 2014-2015 contract year. The JSSC will determine who will receive a leadership stipend and the amount of the stipend. Generally, JSSC Chairs and members, Grade Level Implementers (Elementary), Department Chairs (Secondary) and other school leaders are paid extra duty pay from IIL funding (note that classified employees who are members of the JSSC may be paid IIL funds). Teacher leaders may be paid an extra amount for time and effort spent in leadership positions and/or instructional extra duty assignments. Each school shall receive base funding plus an additional amount to be determined for each FTE with the funding being loaded into individual school budgets. Some of the funding for IIL, may be used for School Improvement Plan Projects which were funded separately in the past. The following guidelines apply:  Any projects funded using this money should be vital to the School Improvement Plan and must be approved by the JSSC.  These projects should be listed on the back of the IIL funding form and must fit within the amount budgeted for IIL.  Schools may choose to use all money for IIL and not fund any projects during the school year.  Project funding must be used to serve students by developing, adapting, and implementing programs for their benefit. This money, unfortunately, may not pay an individual for the hours it takes to complete a project. To facilitate payment, documentation specifying each teacher leader’s name and the stipend amount should be submitted to the appropriate school director and the school secretary by the JSSC Chair and the principal. School secretaries will be able to request payment of the stipends directly from the school account. Payment requests for IIL should be submitted on or before April 15,2015.
